A while back, I decided I was going to post Thursday Updates, in honour of our cell group, who meets every Thursday. But I only did it once. Here's to the second attempt!
Last Thursday, Scott read to us from the dictionary.
Reformation: forming again (especially removal of defects); an intended improvement in the existing form or condition of institutions or practices etc.; intended to make a striking change for the better in social or political or religious affairs; rescuing from error and returning to a rightful course.
He applied the idea of reformation to our relationships, and had us evaluate all of our relationships in the group. It was a searching excercise in which brutal honesty was required, along with strength and determination to improve.
Ingredients for a good day:
+ video camera
+ abundant imagination
+ lists
+ good ideas
+ Cassandra & Zoe
+ Someone who looks like Sean Connery
+ Someone to imitate lions and monkeys
+ A three-legged dog (we're not cruel!!)
+ Holy Spirit-led good ideas
Ode to Caps.
We have recently discovered the joy of playing with caps! Remember cap guns? Well, as it turns out, you don't need a cap-gun to get loads of fun from the ammunition! Just fold up a roll tightly, and bang 'em with a hammer on the ground. Ow! (it hurts the ears).
The other great thing we discovered (supplies provided by Matt & Than) is that spray on deoderant and a barbeque lighter makes a GREAT flame torch. Much joy that day.
Creepy!
I have just learned something rather interesting... apparently a friend of ours works for the City of Abbotsford, doing odd job maintenence type stuff, and along with the orange jumper and good benefits, this job comes with a LICENSE TO KILL. If he runs someone over on the job, it's actually going to be his fault. WHAT?!
